Squarespace design day for Nourish Your Soul - blogger, author and speaker website

Squarespace redesign for a Writer, Blogger and Speaker

When Sarah first approached me, her website was on Squarespace 7.0. She knew she wanted to switch to Squarespace 7.1 but she had so many blog posts and needed help moving them over. She also desired a more “elevated” site with new fonts and colors. Since Sarah also blogs about recipes she was needing a way to provide better capabilities for her website visitors to find recipes.

On her Squarespace Design Day, I was able to set up a new website for her on Squarespace 7.1 and load her blog posts from her old website.

I created a Home page design which showcases all her offerings: bible studies, blog posts (including recipes), an intro to her book, an intro to Sarah, as well as freebie offerings for her newsletter signup.

I created a brand new page for her new Book and updated numerous other pages.

We accomplished so much in just one day and a half!

What we did on the Design Day (and a half):

arrow_circle_right Copied blog and many other pages over from an existing Squarespace 7.0 site to a new 7.1 site

arrow_circle_right set up the new template with brand colors and fonts

arrow_circle_right Designed all these pages: Home, About, Book, Speaking and Contact

arrow_circle_right set up the blog page with category search and installed a related posts plugin

event Duration: 1.5 days

The addition of categories and a search bar improves quick access to articles and recipes.

“For the longest time, I have been wanting to redo my website, but I've been overwhelmed by where to start and how to make it look professional. I quickly realized that I could not accomplish what I wanted on my own.

After looking at Jodi's portfolio, I knew she could offer exactly what I needed––a sophisticated look that also takes into account good marketing and SEO practices.

Her designs are beautiful––but even more than that, they're effective.”

What was your favorite part about the Day?

It was so fun to see Jodi take my needs for my website and make them a reality so quickly. When she revealed the initial design to me, it was so on point with what I was looking for, and then she implemented my suggestions and feedback beautifully.

How do you feel about your website after the Design Day? Were we able to accomplish your goals for the day?

I cannot believe how much we accomplished in just one day! Jodi works quickly and diligently, and you can trust that she is focused and does a great job prioritizing tasks. The (very) few things we ran out of time to do were easy for me to complete, and Jodi made it even easier with video tutorials and guidance afterwards.

Just do it! This design day was worth every single penny, and I am so happy with the finished product. I was on the fence for a while, but I have zero regrets about my design day.
