Alex has had a vibrant blog on Squarespace every since Squarespace launched in 2010! She has an amazing number of beautiful blog posts on Travel, Style and beautiful interiors. She had definitely outgrown her original Squarespace template and was looking for a complete redesign for her beautiful blog.

We updated Alex’s site to one of the Brine family templates on Squarespace as these templates are simply the best for overall functionality. We started by making a new home page for Alex, separate from her blog that allows her to showcase featured posts, her “Currently Coveting” shopping links and her most recent posts.

Completely new blogging experience for the readers of Dreams and Jeans
Whenever a blog has a multitude of posts, you need to do whatever you can to make it easier for your viewers to quickly find the content they are looking for. This actually applies to any size blog, but with large blogs there are extra steps we can take.
We added category pages for her main content buckets of “Interiors”, “Style”, “Currently Coveting” and “Travel”. There is also a page for all the posts. These pages all have a grid display to allow us to show more blog posts at once, and most importantly, they have a filtering option to restrict posts by category or tag. The pagination allows for jumping ahead or back in larger increments as well.
“My favorite parts of my website changes are my new homepage layout and blog organization. I love that I now have a homepage that gives visitors an overview of my site and what it’s about. I also love that my blog posts are a lot more organized and easier to navigate through.”

Beautiful gallery pages were created so that Alex is easily able to edit and change up the products that she wants to promote.
