It has been a minute since I have reviewed any Squarespace plugins and there are many new ones to talk about! This is my roundup of the best Squarespace plugins that I have seen so far this year.

What are Squarespace plugins and why do we need them?
Essentially Squarespace plugins are just custom codes that you can install on your Squarespace website to increase the functionality of the site. These plugins provide the ability to create or do things in Squarespace that are not possible by default.
The reason to install them would be only if you are requiring some functionality that is not possible from Squarespace by default.
Will Myers plugins :
Will and his team continue to put out the most high quality, easy to use plugins that I find myself using the most.
Here are 3 of Will’s recent plugin releases that I am loving:
Collection to List Section Sync:
I love using List Sections in Squarespace because they are SOOO easy to update (especially for my web design clients). This is one of the plugins that makes List sections 1000% more usable. You can set up any type of list section (simple list, carousel or even a banner slideshow) and then sync it to a blog, a shop or even a portfolio collection! You can even filter by featured posts and categories. AMAZING!!!!
The reason I love this so much is that it allows us to use prettier sections to display our collection anywhere on our site - we are not restricted to the summary block which is so boring and so hard to style (unless you use custom code). List sections are so much easier to adjust as well - we have control over number of columns (for simple list and carousel list), whether we want the card block on, spacing, font sizes and so much more.
Here is examples showing the plugin pulling in content from a blog collection on each type of list section. Remember that there are many ways to style these list sections which is the beauty of them!
Simple List pulling in blog posts (in this case the card block is on to add the background color)
Carousel List Layout (in this case the card block is on to add the background color)

Section Loader Supreme:
The use cases for this plugin are unending! The Section Loader Supreme plugin allows you to have a “common” section that you can insert on any other pages (or pages). The reason for doing this is that you can update content in ONE spot and it will be reflected on every other page where it is displayed. LOVE THIS!
Some examples for where this would be helpful would be promoting something on multiple blog posts, have a list section with content that you want shown on multiple pages just to name a couple.
In this example I used it to populate information on a podcast that gets repeated at the bottom of each podcast episode. If you ever want to change the content that appears on each podcast page in this area it only involves changing it in one place!
Here is the “global” section that I want placed within each blog post collection (which in this case is a podcast).
Here is the full blog page display with that content showing at the bottom. You can place your inserted content anywhere you would like it!
Pocket View:
Another List Section plugin :) . This one allows you to show list section content in a tab display. There are many options for styling and displaying content as well.
Pocket View plugin used to display a timeline. This would also be a great use for displaying a company process.

Squarehero plugins
Real Estate Listings plugin
Squarehero are newer to the Squarespace plugins scene (at least to me) and they offer some very unique plugins that no one else seems to offer. One notable plugin is to display Real Estate listings in a beautiful way. This plugin uses a blog collection and syncs automatically with a Google Sheet where you can easily show property details like number of bedrooms, square footage and more. Even better, it has amazing filters for bedrooms, bathrooms, price range, size, location, and construction status.
Food and Drink Menu Manager Squarespace plugin
They also have a menu plugin which allows custom categories and automatically syncs with a Google Sheet. Update the google sheet and your website will reflect the changes automatically. As a bonus the menus are fully mobile responsive so they will be easy to read on all devices.
SQSMODS plugins
2 header buttons:
In Squarepace 7.1 we are limited by default to one header button. Sometimes we have the need for 2 header buttons and this plugin delivers that functionality.
On my website for example, I am using it to highlight the 2 different services I offer (a Squarespace Design Day and a Designer Hour):
SQS Mods Animated number counter:
A dynamic animated counter using a Squarespace List section (so it’s easy to update! Dynamic counters are a great way to show proof of your experience, display a statistic in an interesting way or show off a fun fact on an About page!

Image Follows Cursor List Layout
This is another plugin that works with a List Section in Squarespace. It creates a row for each item with a title and a call to action. When you hover over the row, an image will appear. This would be a great way to show a portfolio, blog posts or service(use in conjunction with Will Myer’s Collection to List Section Sync for so much flexibility!
Multilevel Navigational Dropdown
This plugin allows you to have nested or 2 level dropdown navigation folders in Squarespace. By default we are only allowed one level of dropdown nesting.
The Square Genius Plugins
This is also a newer store (to me anyway) and they seem to be releasing new plugins quite often. Some plugin options here include a dynamic counter plugin, a goal progress bar plugin (great for showing off donations received vs. the target), a Social Proof Widget (which shows latest purchases), a timeline plugin and a countdown timer and more.

I hope you found a new plugin that you are as excited about as I have been!
